“Maxim has qualified for the world Cup honestly, not having favors. I really respect him as an athlete, he is a competent, hard-working and an example for many people. But, unfortunately, sports age can’t last 20 years. To be a leader and then become an outsider is wrong, I respect his decision”, — quotes the head of FLGR RIA Novosti.
Vyal added that he would continue to have contact with the athlete after his professional career.
Earlier it was reported that Vylegzhanin intends to retire after the stage of KM in Oslo.
