Russian tennis player Elena Vesnina lost to American Venus Williams (2:6, 6:4, 5:7) in the second round of the WTA tournament in Rome (Italy).

The game lasted two hours and 13 minutes.

In the next round, the American will play against Estonian Anette Kontaveit, who beat another representative of Russia Svetlana Kuznetsova.
