KIEV. 18 APR. UNN. Senator from the Democratic party, a member of the Committee for international Affairs Ben Cardin stated that he was very concerned about what happens to homosexuals in Chechnya, reports UNN with reference to AFP.
“The bitterness and inhuman actions of the President of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov is well known, he created an atmosphere of terror for LGBT people,” said B. Cardin.
“The President of Russia Vladimir Putin should immediately signal that violence against people on the basis of their sexual orientation and gender identity is unacceptable,” — said an American politician.
Another Republican Senator So Tillis noted that the Chechen authorities kidnapped and tortured gays, which is a gross violation of human rights.
“The leader of Chechnya loyal to Putin, it is not surprising that Putin deny this shameful human rights violation,” wrote T. Tillis in his microblog on Twitter.
