Unknown in Odessa threatened and ran into the car of journalists
KIEV. June 28. UNN. Unknown in Odessa intentionally damaged a car and threatened the participants of the project for investigative journalism. About it UNN reported with reference to data of the Kyiv police Department in Odessa.
“The police asked the correspondent of one of the publications, a statement of damage to an official vehicle, and threats from unknown persons in the project for investigative journalism,” said Odessa police.
The Complainant reported that during the implementation of their professional activities is unknown on the car “VAZ” made a deliberate impact on the vehicle crew parked near the administrative building of the court. Inside the vehicle was the driver. The accident damaged the left side of the car, the driver was not injured.
According to the Complainant, during this event she and the cameraman were in the court room. After their return to the car 30 unknown expressed in their address threats of violence.
The event qualified under part 1 of article 345-1 (threat or violence against a journalist) of the Criminal code of Ukraine. The maximum punishment provided by the sanction of this article – imprisonment for the term up to three years.
The police establishes the identity of the attackers and the circumstances of the incident.
Recall, according to NUJU since the beginning of the year recorded 30 cases of use of force against journalists.
