Ukrainians warned of moving the airport of Istanbul

KIEV. April 6. UNN. Due to the fact that the international Ataturk airport in the Turkish city of Istanbul, translates all commercial passenger flights in the new airport of Istanbul and ceases all operations on April 6, the Ukrainians, who to fly, advised to track information about their flights. About it UNN reported with reference to information of the Consulate General of Ukraine in Istanbul.

“Attention citizens of Ukraine who plan to travel to Istanbul. We inform you that the international airport. Ataturk (Istanbul Ataturk Airport IST), Istanbul (IATA code “IST”) from 3:00 PM to 5 April 2019 begins the gradual transfer of all commercial passenger flights in the new airport of Istanbul (IATA code “ISL”) and will completely cease operations at 2:00 PM, April 6, 2019,” said the Consulate.

It is planned that the transfer of all commercial flights in the new airport will last until 24:00 on 7 April 2019.

“To avoid potential logistical complications in the period from 3:00 PM 5 April to 24:00 on 7 April 2019 recommend all travellers to keep track of information on the websites of the airlines and contact them to obtain relevant information on the implementation/cancellation/transfer flight, as well as clarify the arrival airport in Istanbul”, – said the Ukrainian Embassy.

At the same time, Anadolu reports that the move of Turkish Airlines (THY) to Istanbul new airport is completed at 70%. According to the CEO of the airline Bilal of Ecchi, THY last flight from Ataturk airport is made in Singapore.

“The move will be completed before the scheduled date. To date, no failures in work was not. If there are any problems, the move will be completed in two to three hours before the scheduled time. At the moment all equipment and supplies delivered to airlines in the Istanbul airport,” said Eksi.

Earlier it was reported that moving THY will last for 45 hours and must end at 23:59 on 6 April.
