Ukraine and Turkey are developing new generation UAV
KIEV. August 20. UNN. Strike unmanned aerial vehicle of a new generation of Akıncı will be one of the first projects of the joint venture created by the state company “UkrSpetsExport”, part of “Ukroboronprom” and the Turkish company Baykar Defence. About it UNN reported in the press service of Ukroboronprom.
“Strike UAVs new generation Akıncı developed in accordance with the requirements of the armed conflicts of the XXI century and is primarily intended for the armament of both Turkish and Ukrainian Armed forces. One of its main advantages – the ability to strike high-accuracy blows the same weapons that are used on conventional aircraft. We are talking about heavy duty ammunition weighing hundreds of pounds. This was made possible thanks to the use of Ukrainian engines to provide greater payload, speed and altitude, efficiency and ease of operation. It should be noted that this project is implemented by combining the largest sectors of the defense complexes of Ukraine and Turkey”, – said General Director of SC “Ukroboronprom” Paul Bukin.
The drone belongs to a new heavy class UAV. It is equipped with two engines of Ukrainian origin that provide the flight at an altitude of over 12 km. drone has a wingspan of 20 meters, capable to lift in air more than 1,000 kg of weapons and to be in flight day.
The drone is equipped with ultra-modern surveillance systems and cameras from powerful cameras to radar with an active phased antenna array and multiple sensors. All this allows to detect at a considerable distance even well-camouflaged targets, transmit the coordinates to destroy or to inflict high-precision strikes.
Among the weapons Akıncı guided missiles, various conventional and smart bombs. This powerful weapon allows the drone to destroy manpower and equipment of the enemy and to strike at important targets of enemy fortifications, control centers and communications, bridges, warehouses, etc.
