U.S. intelligence believes that Russia is supposedly spreading disinformation about the former Vice President of the United States Joseph Biden, who has already secured his nomination as a candidate from Democratic party on elections of the President of the United States. With such a statement issued on Friday, the broadcaster CNN, citing sources, reports TASS.
Over the last few days the representatives of the American intelligence community has briefed US lawmakers on their assumptions about a “misinformation campaign” pursued by Russia. They believe that efforts to spread false information intended to support the candidacy of the current head of the White house Donald trump and weaken the positions of his likely opponent in the election, says the broadcaster.
Similar data were transferred to the electoral headquarters of Biden and trump. The broadcaster stressed that the representatives of the politicians do not comment on speculation, voiced its sources.
Biden, according to the latest estimates by The New York Times, enlisted the support of 2627 delegates to the national Convention of the Democratic party that will support one or another candidate for nomination as a candidate for the President of the United States. To become a candidate on the first ballot at the democratic Convention, candidates have to get votes 1991 delegate. Biden has overcome this mark on 5 June.
National Congress of Democrats, which Biden needs to call a candidate for the presidency, was postponed due to the pandemic coronavirus on 17-20 August, it will be held in Milwaukee (Wisconsin). The current us leader also already received a sufficient number of votes of the delegates to the party Congress for the nomination of the Republican candidate. The next U.S. presidential election is scheduled for November 3.
