KIEV. September 7. UNN. In Odessa for up to five years of imprisonment sentenced two police officers for extortion of a bribe in the amount of 5 thousand dollars. from the doctor for the failure of his criminal responsibility. “Yesterday, 6 September, the Kiev district court of Odessa announced the verdict the accused in the Commission of a criminal offense under part 3 St. 368 criminal code of Ukraine (acceptance of an offer, promise or receipt of unlawful benefit) … Each of them was sentenced to 5 years imprisonment with disqualification to hold positions in bodies of Executive power for a period of 3 years with confiscation of property. Also, ex-law enforcement officers are deprived of special ranks of the Colonel and major of militia respectively”, – stated in the message.
As noted, according to the verdict, the accused worked in one of regional departments of militia in the village. Odessa as a senior investigator and security officer.

In 2015, the employee of the investigation Department was commissioned to carry out pre-trial investigation on the fact of abuse of official position of officials of the hospital that led to the sale of strong medicines.
During the investigation, the employee of militia it became known that the specified offense involved a psychiatrist-sexologist. In this regard, the female investigator appeared intent on obtaining illegal benefit. His actions attracted the security officer as an accomplice.
Realizing his intent, ex-militiamen asked the doctor to 5 thousand dollars. for the failure of his and other employees of the institution to criminal liability.

Realizing the consequences, the latter agreed to provide the funds. So, being in the private office of the investigator, the doctor gave her the agreed upon illegal benefits. Immediately after receiving the money the woman was detained by militiamen. On the same day was arrested and her accomplice – detective.
At the hearing the accused did not admit his guilt and explained that I do not know where it came from “pamachena” the money seized during the search.
Despite this, the court found former police officers guilty of committing a criminal offence.
