Today in Ukraine declared mourning for those killed in a fire at Odessa College
KIEV. 8 Dec. UNN. The President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky has declared today, December 8, a national day of mourning for those killed in Odessa from-for a fire that occurred in the building of the Odessa College of Economics, law and hotel and restaurant business. About the Ukrainian leader wrote last night on his page in Facebook, reports UNN.
“I declare Sunday, December 8, a national day of mourning for those killed in Odessa … we lowered national flags. Cancel celebrations and festivities. We will stop and think. Let this tragic event be a lesson to all officers, managers, for all citizens of Ukraine,” said Zelensky.
“Life is the most valuable thing for each of us. Each human life is the most valuable thing a country. To save a life — the first and most important task of the state. Sad when people die at the front. But it is doubly worse when people are dying in a peaceful town, in the light of day, as a result of someone else’s mistakes or negligence. We pray for the repose of the souls of the dead. To seek out those who have gone missing, praying and hoping to find them alive. We will work so that this does not happen again,” added the head of state.

As of Sunday morning, fire in Odessa took the lives of eight Ukrainians. In hospital from received during the liquidation of fire injuries died rescuer Sergey Shatokhin. The fate of ten people is still unknown.
According to SSES, December 4 at 10:12 in Odessa on the 3rd floor of a 6-storey building of the Odessa College of Economics, law and hotel and restaurant business was on fire. 14:18 the fire was localized in the area of 4 thousand sq. m. Units SSES rescued and evacuated 40 people. As of the morning of 5 December saw the collapse of burned building structures inside the building.
