The Venezuelan foreign Ministry: Russian military are in the country to train local counterparts

KIEV. April 26. UNN. A small group of the Russian military is in Venezuela solely for the training of local counterparts in the framework of the cooperation agreement. This was stated on Thursday Minister of foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian Republic Jorge arreaza at a press conference in the headquarters of the United Nations, reports UNN.

“They arrived on the same plane in order to train our people to use their helicopters, their military systems. They are in Venezuela, but we are not talking about the presence of the military contingent,” he said.

Arreaza noted that after the early 2000s, the United States refused to continue to service the American military equipment Venezuela, Caracas appealed for help to Russia. “Since 2001, we have a cooperation agreement with Russia,” he added.
