The SBU exposed railway workers to theft of property and extortion of money

KIEV. 18 Dec. UNN. Employees of the security Service of Ukraine exposed workers of the Dnieper detachment of militarized protection of the regional branch of “Dnieper railway”, PJSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” on theft of property and extortion of money from businessmen. This is reported by UNN citing the press service of the SBU.

“Operatives of the intelligence service established that the officers of the detachment, together with representatives of local criminals, organized the mechanism of theft of goods, particularly of metal, coal, fuels and lubricants from cars passing through the railroad station in Zaporizhia region. The attackers also demanded from the owners of these goods illegal remuneration for the preservation of the integrity and unhindered movement of goods through the territory of the region”, – stated in the message.

The fact of extortion, one of the leaders of the Dnieper detachment of the home guard was documented. He demanded from the private entrepreneur 400 thousand hryvnias it was detained while receiving the last part of a bribe in the amount of almost 150 thousand UAH.

In the framework of criminal proceedings opened under part 3 St. 368 Criminal code of Ukraine the issue on declaring him about the suspicion and the election of a preventive measure in the form of detention.

Now investigations are continuing to identify and bring to justice all participants in the illegal activity.

Recall that the military Prosecutor’s office of bribery exposed one of the leaders of SE “Administration of sea ports of Ukraine”.
