Nazarbayev addressed to the people of Kazakhstan

The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev said Tuesday that resigns from the post of the head of state.

About it reports TASS.

“I made the decision to stop his powers as President,” – said Nazarbayev in an address to the nation, broadcast live on national television.

Nazarbayev will remain head of the security Council of Kazakhstan.

“This year marks 30 years of my tenure as Supreme leader of our country. I was awarded the great honor of my great nation to become the first President of independent Kazakhstan”, – said Nazarbayev.

As reported by Sputnik-Kazakhstan, to perform the duties of the President will be the speaker of the Senate Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev.

“I am confident that we are on the right track. If we are strong, everybody will reckon with us. If we cleave to someone, you lose all of your achievements. Long live Kazakhstan!” – said Nazarbayev.

Nursultan Nazarbayev has been President of Kazakhstan since 1990.
