KIEV. July 6. UNN. In Parliament registered a draft law № 8558 on amendments to the Law of Ukraine “On advertising” concerning anti-discrimination,” citing a website lying reports UNN.

So, the draft law proposes to Supplement Article 1 of the law by the third paragraph relative to discriminatory advertising.

“Discriminatory advertising based on gender is advertising that demeans the dignity of people on the basis of sex; broadcasts stereotypes about the intellectual, physical, social or other benefits one sex over the other; replicates the stereotypical roles that limit the freedom of life choice of a person; uses a person solely as a sexual object to attract the attention of consumers, or is based on ambiguous expressions, with hints of a sexual relationship; or shows physical abuse of one gender over another”, – the document says.

In the explanatory note to the draft law, the author stated that this document proposes to define “discriminatory” advertising, to increase the fines for repeated Commission of a violation of the legislation on advertising.

“This bill is intended to facilitate the confrontation of discrimination. The new edition encourages citizens and public associations of citizens to apply to the courts and to combat discriminatory advertising. This will make the enterprise more demanding and carefully. Also, the adoption of this draft will change the amount of fines for discriminatory advertising, will determine the perpetrator for posting discriminatory advertisements and will provide more powers to the Central authority of Executive power that implements the state policy in the sphere of state control over observance of legislation on protection of consumer rights”, – said the author of the bill, people’s Deputy of Ukraine Iryna Lutsenko.
