The opposition leader of Venezuela said that the vessel carrying humanitarian aid has left Puerto Rico

KIEV. 21 Feb. UNN. A ship with 250 tons of humanitarian aid to Venezuela on Board left Puerto Rico and headed towards the Bolivarian Republic. On Wednesday was announced by the leader of the Venezuelan opposition Juan Guido, reports UNN.

“Today, from Puerto Rico, the ship came with 250 tons of humanitarian aid to our country”, — he wrote in his Twitter. The politician also expressed confidence that “humanitarian assistance in any case will go to Venezuela”.

Earlier, Guido said that foreign humanitarian aid will arrive in Venezuela on February 23. According to him, the authorities will try to prevent its delivery, but the opposition with the help of volunteers will still be able to distribute food and medicines among the population. Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro called the initiative on transfer of humanitarian aid to the “poor and cheap shows of the oligarchy” and urged citizens to abandon it. Despite the official position of Caracas, February 8, in the Colombian border town of Cucuta has opened a center for the distribution of humanitarian aid for residents of Venezuela.
