Monday, October 23, detectives NAB under the procedural management of SAP prosecutors conduct searches in the building of Odessa city hall and the mayor Gennady Trukhanov in the investigation of two criminal proceedings on the facts of possible abuse of official position of officials of the Odessa city Council and controlled by private companies.

“In a single proceeding investigated the possible misappropriation of funds of the local budget by overstating the value of works on reconstruction of roads and subsequent transfer illegally obtained income to the accounts controlled by offshore companies. Searches are conducted in the place of residence of the persons who may be involved in the Commission of these criminal offences, and at the place of location of objects and documents relevant for criminal proceedings.
Given that investigators also checked the version of possible involvement of the mayor of Odessa Gennady Trukhanov to specified criminal investigations and at his place of work and residence.
