KIEV. August 13. UNN. Six months ago, the deputies adopted in the first reading the draft law on inland waterway transport, which aims to regulate legal relations in the field of navigation on inland waterways. Since the document is in the Parliament without movement. Why Parliament is delaying the adoption of the project memory in the comments UNN said one of its initiators, the people’s Deputy Sergey Lobasyuk.

According to him, the document has been stalled due to the lack of political will to develop water transport in Ukraine.

“There were a few bills, an alternative, including from other political forces and deputies. I think our bill block, because that there is no political will to develop water transport,” he says.

The conviction of Labazuy, domestic water industry is quite promising.

“The revival of the industry will allow to unload the basic roads and Railways from transport, primarily agricultural. Farmers in the development of water transport are also interested because it will reduce the cost of logistics for agricultural enterprises, which carry the produce to the ports”, he added.

The document regulates the construction of water transport in Ukraine. Lawmaker proposes benefits for domestic producers, however, does not exclude the possibility of import of vehicles from abroad.

“We came to the fact that to build a full and sufficient water transport in Ukraine for one day we can’t. Therefore, the proposed alternative, according to which logistics companies can purchase water transport outside of Ukraine, import to Ukraine, on a temporary or permanent basis. However, I note that the preferential terms provided for in the bill, primarily for domestic producers. To add the word that in Ukraine there are factories and businesses that not only build, but repair and water transport. And this is hugely important for us, as it will bring funds to the budget”, – said the MP.

Labatut says that the bill will launch a Ukrainian water transport in a real job. He adds that the project had been worked out and agreed on by professional associations.

We will remind, the Ministry of Infrastructure announced the revival of the river fleet. Last year the Minister Vladislav Crickley was fired with scandal the head of the “Ukrainian Danube shipping company” (UDP) Dmitry Chaly and assigned to Alexey Khomyakov. The latter managed to bring the enterprise into profit in the first quarter of 2020. It also identified a number of schemes by which the former management of artificially bankrupted UDP. In particular during the Chaly was stolen from Hospederia 32 barges with a cost of $ 5 million.
