Odessa oblast Prosecutor’s office sent to court indictment against two officials of GU gschs in the case of a fire in camp Victoria. This office reported in a Facebook.

“Investigators of the Prosecutor’s office completed pre-trial investigation against two officials of the Main Department of the State service for emergency situations of Ukraine in Odessa region”, – stated in the message.

The Department stressed that we are talking about the former head of the Kiev Department of GU gschs in the Odessa region and the current inspector. They are suspected of the negligence which has entailed heavy consequences (part 2 of article 367 of the criminal code of Ukraine).

The Prosecutor’s office of area sent to court the indictment for consideration on the merits.

In turn, the portal of the Judiciary of Ukraine writes that the court has already received an act on the acting inspector SSES.

It indicated that he works as the leading inspector of regional Department of GU gschs of Ukraine in Odessa region and he is responsible for the implementation of state supervision over compliance with the requirements of legislation in the field of fire safety.

The prosecution insists that the inspector knew about the violation of fire safety rules and the possible consequences, but did not take any measures to change the situation with the security of, or complete or partial suspension of work of children’s camp Victoria.

It is noted that the preparatory meeting is scheduled for March 28, 2018 at 14.30.

15 September 2017 at the Odessa children’s camp Victoria burned down two-story wooden building, the victims of the fire were three children. The investigation is considering four versions of the accident: fire, hot object, the risk of fire from open fire or short circuit.

2 February 2018 office of the Prosecutor announced that the case about the fire in Victoria is declared suspicion to one of the leading inspectors of Department of gschs in Odessa.
