The “farm” is generating bitcoins found in the Institute Paton
For mining used 200 pieces of computer equipment
Investigators Sviatoshynsky police Department and the security Service of Ukraine found on the territory of the state enterprise “Medical health center “IEW. Paton” 200 pieces of computer equipment for generating (hashing) cryptocurrency bitcoin, which was operating in violation of the law of Ukraine.
This is stated in the decree of the Sviatoshynsky district court of Kyiv, which is published in the Unified state register of court decisions of Ukraine.
The judgment States that during a pretrial investigation it is established that several persons on preliminary arrangement, in pursuit of personal selfish interests, decided to make a fake Bank documents.
“The issue and circulation of money substitutes cryptocurrency Bitcoin on the territory of Ukraine is prohibited under part 2 of article 32 of the law of Ukraine “On the National Bank of Ukraine”, – stated in the decree.
The document also notes that the creation of Bitcoin violate the requirements of laws of Ukraine “On the National Bank of Ukraine”, “On banks and banking activity”, article 9 of the Law of Ukraine “On payment systems and funds transfer in Ukraine”.
“Payment organizations of payment systems, participants of payment systems and operators of payment infrastructure services may perform activities in Ukraine only after their registration by entering information in the Registry”, – stated in the decree.
The investigator noted that the implementation of criminal intent on the territory of health-improving complex “Institute of electric welding them. Paton” was placed 200 pieces of computer equipment, the so-called “miners”. However, no contract has not been concluded, as mentioned above, the group contributed to officials of the rehabilitation centre.
“The cryptocurrency being used as a means of payment through the implementation of exchange operations for electronic money of payment systems official, the forgery of electronic payment orders and other banking documents”, — emphasized in the judgment.
In the further part of the generated currency with the use of electronic payment systems is converted and transferred to the Bank accounts of the enterprises with fictitiousness signs. They said funds are transferred to the card account by hackers and cashed.
The court allowed the national police to inspect at the “rehabilitation center IEW. Paton” for the purpose of search and withdrawal of things and documents associated with the generation of Bitcoin.
We will remind, in the middle of June the Tax police of Kyiv jointly with the National police exposed the inter-regional criminal group, whose members unlawfully took possession of large sums of funds during a money laundering with the use of cryptocurrency.
Earlier, the national Bank of Ukraine reported that it is not responsible for any risks and losses associated with the use of virtual currencies in payment transactions.
Virtual currency bitcoin is one of the most popular alternatives to traditional currencies, which is often called cryptocurrency or virtual currency. Bitcoins can be used to pay for goods or services from sellers willing to accept them. The currency does not have a single emission center. The issue of bitcoin is fully decentralized and can be done accidentally by any client system by using computers electronic equipment for maintenance of the system.
