The Ecumenical Patriarch delivered the text of the original of the Tomos of autocephaly
KIEV. 5 Jan. UNN. 4 January 2019, hieromonk Luke, iconographer and calligrapher, was brought to Constantinople (Istanbul — ed.) text-the original copy of the Tomos of autocephaly of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. It is reported by UNN citing the website Bigorski monastery in Macedonia.
4 January 2019, hieromonk Luke, iconographer and calligrapher, was brought to Constantinople the text of the original of the Tomos of autocephaly of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. Text calligraphically decorated on parchment, with the blessing of Abbot Ksenofontova monastery on mount Athos, Archimandrite Alexy.
This Tomos will be awarded to the head of the DNC Kiev Metropolitan Epiphany 6 January 2019 after the divine Liturgy in Constantinople.
“The delegates of the Church from Ukraine together with the Kyiv Metropolitan Epiphanius are already in the city, where tomorrow they will be present at the Phanar for the official signing of the Tomos of the Ecumenical Patriarch. On Sunday, the feast of the Epiphany, two priests will be reunited in the great Church. During the divine Liturgy the Patriarch will give a Tomos to Metropolitan Epiphanios”, — stated in the message.
Remember, Bartholomew encouraged the patriarchs to recognize the autocephaly of the UOC.
