24 February in the southern part of the canadian province of Ontario the storm raged on. On lake Erie, a strong wind brought the ice to the shore from the lake and the Niagara river. In many places the coast in Canada and in the U.S. state of new York (for example, the cities of Buffalo and Hamburg) there were ice walls up to a height of 10 meters, reports WWJ Newsradio 950.

In Ontario, the storm left without electricity for 27 thousand homes. But because of the surge phenomena and ice on lake Erie impounded settlements. In Port Dover lifeguards had boats to carry out an evacuation, according to Stormnews.
