Primorsky district court of Odessa ordered the SBU to open a criminal investigation upon receipt of admission to the state secret by the mayor of Odessa Gennady Trukhanov in the presence of citizenship of the Russian Federation.

About this Facebook said the plaintiff, a well – known Odessa activist Michael Kuzakon.

According to him, yesterday the district court granted his appeal to the “inaction of the investigator of SBU”, and made a decision about introduction in eRDR information about “criminal offence Trukhanov”.

Kuzakon explained that the secret service he has addressed with the corresponding statement in February, but to no avail. According to the activist, the mayor of Odessa, receiving access to state secrets (which implies a status, in particular, the mayor), deliberately concealed information about the presence of his citizenship of the Russian Federation.

As noted, Trukhanov since 2012, was elected Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada in single-mandate constituency No. 136, may 27, 2014 assumed the duties of the mayor of Odessa on the results of the special election. Further, since 25 October 2015 re-elected for this post.

As explained Kuzakon, information about the alleged Russian citizenship Trukhanov was announced by the prosecutors of the Specialized anticorruption Prosecutor’s office during one of the sessions of the court in the case of assignment of the 185 million UAH at the purchase of the premises of the plant “region”. In this case it appears, including the mayor of Odessa.

At the same time, according to the activist, “looks ridiculous” certificate, which Trukhanov previously received at the Consulate of the Russian Federation about the lack of Russian citizenship.

The activist has published his address in USBU of Odessa region dated 14 February, in which he sets out his vision of what is happening. In particular, he believes that Trukhanov should be prosecuted under article 364 (abuse of power or official position), article 366 (an office fake), article 358 (forgery and use of false documents) and article 328 (disclosure of state secrets) of the Criminal code of Ukraine.

As UNIAN reported earlier, in February, the Verkhovna Rada, the head of the party “people’s Rukh of Ukraine” Victor Krivenko appealed to the SBU with a request to check whether the access to state secrets of the mayor of Odessa Gennady Trukhanov because of its alleged Russian citizenship.

In the framework of the investigation of the purchase of the plant “region” the investigation did the queries in the procedure of international legal assistance, including the Prosecutor General and the police of the Russian Federation to clarify the availability of Trukhanov citizenship of this country. From the answers it follows that Russian passports issued to the person whose full match (name, surname, patronymic, date of birth) Trukhanov, in Dagestan in 2002 and in the Moscow region (Sergiev Posad) in 2003. But allegedly these documents were “issued unjustifiably without determining the citizenship of the Russian Federation”.

According to activist Catherine Madens, who spent his own investigation, a court in Russia has revoked the passport of Trukhanov in July 2018. She also argues that, although the Russian passport of the mayor annulled, citizenship remained.

Earlier Trukhanov was accused of dual citizenship, in particular, the former mayor of Odessa Eduard Gurvits, the former head of the Odessa regional state administration, Mikheil Saakashvili, some deputies of the Verkhovna Rada, but Trukhanov always denied it.
