The court of Mariupol arrested two people for kidnapping and torturing a fighter of “Donbass”

KIEV. 27 Nov. UNN. Zhovtnevyi district court of Mariupol chose a measure of restraint in the form of detention of two persons suspected of the kidnapping and torture of a soldier of the battalion “Donbass”, reports UNN , citing the press service of the Prosecutor of Donetsk region.

“The court, given the prosecution evidence, the two decided to elect a suspect measure of restraint in the form of detention for a period of 60 days, however for one of the detainees identified an alternative in the form of a Deposit in the amount of 50 thousand UAH”, – stated in the message.

According to prosecutors, the investigation established that the group of soldiers of the special battalion of the national guard in September 2014 was kidnapped and held in captivity for three months a soldier of his battalion, who was involved in personnel matters.

In particular, added the Agency, from September to December 2014 a prisoner intimidated regarding the possible deprivation of his life, the massacre of relatives and friends, restricted in food and water for months, which led to the depletion of the body. In addition, he was interrogated, and the interrogations were accompanied by beatings.

In December of the captured soldier had been released by law enforcement officials.

The actions of the kidnappers are qualified under two articles of the Criminal code of Ukraine, namely part 2 of article 146 (illegal imprisonment or kidnapping), part 2 of article 127 (torture) of the Criminal code of Ukraine.

As reported UNN, on November 26 in Mariupol, Donetsk region court arrested for 60 days alternative without the right of bail the suspect in the abduction of a soldier of the battalion “Donbass” in 2014, and several other criminal offenses.
