The Goloseevsky district court of Kiev appointed to consideration in essence criminal proceedings on charges of extortion of 500 thousand dollars. former people’s Deputy, the Director of the Institute of Agroecology and nature management of NAS of Ukraine Orest Fordick. “Yesterday, may 21, 2018 in the Goloseevsky district court of Kiev held a preparatory hearing for consideration of an indictment against the Director of the Institute of Agroecology and nature management of NAS of Ukraine. The head of the Institute is accused of obtaining illegal benefit in especially large size, interfaced to extortion under part 4 St . 368 of the criminal code of Ukraine. The court decided to hold trial of the indictment in open court in the period specified by law”, – stated in the message.
At the same time, the court partially granted the Prosecutor’s request on the extension of the procedural obligations of the defendant given that the accused the measure of restraint in the form of collateral.
Along with this the court refused satisfaction of the petition of the Prosecutor on dismissal of the defendant from office at the time of trial.
It should be noted that the official was dismissed from his post by a court decision until April 26 of this year. Subsequently, in connection with the stay in treatment at a medical facility, he did not appear in court session and the court could not consider the petition of the Prosecutor of his suspension.
