Russian citizens detained in Belarus on the territory of the sanatorium “Belorusochka” in Minsk district, are suspected of preparing mass riots (article 13 of part 2 of article 293 of the criminal code of Belarus), according to the website of the Investigative Committee of the country. 33 people were detained “by results of check of the operative information received from intelligence services, on suspicion in Commission of the specified crimes”.

“At the present time the question of the use of remand in custody. Ongoing investigative actions and operational-search measures aimed at establishing the persons involved in the preparation and organization of mass riots on the territory of the country”, – stated in the message.

He is charged with preparing for mass riots and part 3 of article 130 of the criminal code “on the facts of committing premeditated actions aimed at different excitation of social hatred, and incitement to commit violent aggressive actions against law enforcement officers”.

Earlier blogger was charged under part 1 of article 342 (Organization of group actions violating public order and interfaced to obvious disobedience to legal requirements of representatives of authority) and article 191 on obstruction of the work of the CEC. The victim in this case recognized the head of the Belarusian Central election Commission Lidia Yermoshina.

The defendants in the case about preparation of mass riots also became the oppositionist Nikolay Statkevich, who was going to participate in presidential elections, and “other persons”.

Sergei Tikhanovski detained in Grodno on 29 may, during a picket to collect signatures for nomination as a candidate in presidents of Belarus of his wife Svetlana. This was preceded by the incident, which resulted in the fallen policeman. In 2015 Statkevich was pardoned by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. But the conviction of opposition will be considered repaid only in 2023. Another conviction he received in may 2005. Then he was sentenced to three years of imprisonment for organizing mass protests in Minsk against the rigged results of the referendum.
