The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko congratulated the servicemen on the Day of Land forces of Armed forces of Ukraine, noting that they first began to defend the independence of Ukraine, and stopped the enemy’s advance into the country, reports UNN , citing the press service of the presidential administration.

“Dear soldiers! I congratulate you on the Day of Land forces of Armed forces of Ukraine. In a difficult time for the country you first came to the defense of its independence and territorial integrity. Thanks to the coordinated and successful military action of the Land forces had stopped the advance of the enemy deep into our territory and liberated the important settlements – Mariupol, Krasny Liman, Nikolaevka, Slavyansk, Kramatorsk, Severodonetsk, lysychans’k, Druzhkivka, Seversk, Sands and others,” he said.

In contrast to the perfidy of Russian mercenaries, the Head of the state, the army opposed her unwavering loyalty to the ideas of freedom and independence of their native land, the principles of popular morality, national and universal values.

“Eternal memory and glory to the heroes who gave their lives for the independence of the country, its peace and tranquility, the bright future of the Ukrainian people.
