KIEV. June 27. UNN. Since the occupation of Crimea initiated nine criminal proceedings on the facts of torture. This was announced by Prosecutor General of Ukraine, reports UNN.
“In particular, is a procedural guide 9 criminal proceedings, where, inter alia, collecting evidence implicating individuals to torture our citizens on the territory of the Crimean Peninsula”, — stated in the message of Prosecutor’s office of Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
As noted, since the temporary occupation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea have been documented cases of torture of citizens of Ukraine on the Peninsula.
These actions are performed by employees of an illegal authority “of the Russian FSB in the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol”, the other organs of the occupying power and representatives of an illegal armed formation “ – Defense of the Crimea”.
The Prosecutor’s office of Autonomous Republic of Crimea fundamentally responds to such facts. Among them, in particular, had the following cases: torture of Pro-Ukrainian position and communication in the Ukrainian language, torture for the purpose of receiving grateful impressions, and a false statement for others. some victims applied electric current.
In criminal proceedings on the fact of torture of a citizen of Ukraine with application of an electric current is reported about suspicion “the operative employee of FSB of the Russian Federation the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol”.
In addition, in the framework of other criminal proceedings, including on the facts of illegal deprivation of liberty, set on almost 200 cases of inhuman treatment of the inhabitants of the Peninsula, a significant percentage of which may have signs of torture.
Recall, human rights activists have recorded since the beginning of the annexation of the Crimea 55 cases of torture.
