Substandard road construction: group of companies from Odessa caused millions in losses to the state

KIEV. 23 Jan. UNN. The security service of Ukraine exposed a group of companies from Odessa, which caused multimillion-dollar losses to local budgets due to poor quality of construction and repair of roads in Ukraine, reports UNN , citing the press service of the SBU.

According to the press service, from Odessa for several years, received orders for the construction and repair of roads in different regions of Ukraine. Employees of SB of Ukraine has documented that during public procurement the owners and top managers of the companies were in collusion with the organisers for obtaining contracts.

“Dealers also used the schemes of tax evasion, overstating the value of the work performed and the materials used. Operatives of the intelligence service established that the total amount appropriated for two years dealers of the funds exceeds one hundred million hryvnias. Decisions of the court are already proven entrepreneurs of evasion from payment of taxes in the amount of five million hryvnias”, – noted in Department.

According to experts, said the SBU, poor performance by contractors of road works affect the safety of the transport infrastructure of the country and led to millions of losses of budgets of different levels.

As poinformowali in a press-service, referring to the intelligence agencies of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine imposed on the group companies penalties in the amount of over 37 million and banned from participating in public procurement for a period of three years.

Criminal proceedings are currently pending before the court.
