The Europeans decided to remind about the horrors that happened to the Ukrainians in 1932-1933

Wednesday, may 16, in Brussels earned a fancy restaurant on wheels UNCOUNTED since 1932, serves the meals, which were eaten by the Ukrainians during the Holodomor of 1932-1933. The protest was organized by students of the Ukrainian Academy of leadership, said in a press release.

“In the 30-ies about the famine wrote 14 of the Belgian Newspapers. Even the world’s first comic book “Tintin in the land of the Soviets” by Belgian artist Hergé was dedicated to the newly created USSR. In it, young reporter Tintin, which is today the symbol of Brussels, he revealed the crimes of the Bolsheviks and described the first famine. About the tragedy of the Ukrainians told and other famous foreigners – journalists, historians and politicians. Our goal is to continue their work and make about the Holodomor are never forgotten. And such would never happen again. Never with anyone,” – said the head of the Ukrainian leadership Academy novel Tyczkowski.

The Belgians were treated to soup cones, bread made from ground herbs, and pancakes from a crust. All the recipes were developed by Ukrainian chef Yuri, Kovrizhenko based on the recollections of eyewitnesses.

For cooking used the bark, leaves, cones, acorns and nettles – the only thing that could afford the Ukrainians during the famine. Thus, UNCOUNTED since 1932 is intended to remind Europeans about the famine in new ways, leaving no one indifferent.

“I am afraid that none of my friends, the Belgians have not even heard about the Holodomor. When I was holding the bread from the grass, felt, experienced Ukrainian peasants when the government of the USSR by force took from them all the food. Be sure to tell about this terrible tragedy to their children”, – shared his impressions of the 32-year-old resident of Brussels, Arthur.
