Seven-time world champion in powerlifting Natalia Rumyantseva has died at the age of 46, reports the press service of the weightlifting Federation of St. Petersburg. Athlete died in the night from Saturday to Sunday. Causes of death were not reported.

“The Federation of powerlifting of St. Petersburg brings to the family and friends of Natalia condolences, this is a huge loss for everyone. The last time Natalia was active as a coach and nurtured many talented students who held high-level pedestals in St. Petersburg, and in Russia and worldwide”, – stated in the message.

Note, Rumyantseva 7 times won the world championship, 8 times European Championships. Is a member of the Hall of fame of the European powerlifting Federation.
