Russian Federation, Belarus, Serbia, and another 16 countries at the meeting of the General Assembly of the United Nations in new York did not support initiated by Ukraine resolution “the Problem of the militarization of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol (Ukraine), as well as parts of the Black and Azov seas”.

Stream session of the UNGA in new York was held at the organization’s website. The resolution was supported by 66 countries, abstained 72.

In particular, voted against Armenia, Belarus, Bolivia, Burundi, Cambodia, Cuba, democratic people’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), Iran, Laos, Myanmar, Nicaragua, Russian Federation, Serbia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, Uzbekistan, Venezuela and Zimbabwe.

Among the countries that abstained – China, Kazakhstan, Argentina, Brazil, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Pakistan, Qatar, South Africa, Thailand, United Arab Emirates and others.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the General Assembly of the United Nations supported the draft resolution on “the Problem of the militarization of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol (Ukraine), as well as parts of the Black and Azov seas”.

The resolution expresses a strong call for the Russian Federation to withdraw its troops from Crimea and end its occupation of Ukrainian territory.

The resolution also urged Russia to stop harassing commercial vessels as well as restrict international navigation in the Black and Azov seas.
