Russia and Syria the UN says that it is not used chemical weapons
Uncategorized April 6, 2017Representatives of Russia and Syria rejected any allegations of use of chemical weapons in the Syrian province of Idlib. He announced this at an emergency meeting of the UN security Council on the situation in Syria.
The representative of the Russian Federation said that Moscow has a clear position that the use of chemical weapons “completely unacceptable”.
Also the representative of the Russian Federation rejected the proposal of the United States, Britain and France to adopt a resolution condemning the use of chemical weapons in Syria.
“Little need for the adoption of the resolution at this stage, we do not see. Previously adopted solution is sufficient for a thorough investigation of the incident. But if someone from the members of the security Council new resolution appears to be desirable and necessary, it needs to look completely different,” he said.
In addition, Russia, the UN accused the rescuers of group “the White hats” and the human rights organization “Syrian Observatory for human rights,” the distortion of information about the attack in Idlib province. “These structures themselves long ago completely discredited,” – said the representative of the Russian Federation.
He acknowledged that a strike in Syria, in Idlib province caused the aircraft to Assad, however, noted that “the strike was a large warehouse of ammunition and the accumulation of military equipment”.
The Syrian representative to the UN, responding to allegations of use of chemical weapons, said: “the Syrian army has in its Arsenal any chemical weapons. We’ve never used it, and won’t use”.
He also noted that Syria is accused without any evidence. “Politicized accusations against Syria and to our fight against terrorism is constantly repeated, and the media convey information that comes to terrorist organizations,” he said.
“Our government categorically rejects all the false accusations in our address. At the same time, it affirms that it will perform all obligations under the Convention prohibiting chemical weapons”, – he concluded.
Tuesday, April 4, in a chemical attack in the Syrian northwestern province of Idlib killedat least 100 people, 300 were injured.
