“The law does not impose restrictions on the size of the election funds of candidates, so politicians can spend any amount. As a result, all the candidates together only officially потратили1,2 billion UAH. However, informal costs even more. In particular, traditionally, the reports do not reflect the expenses of the candidate on salaries for facilitators, members of commissions and observers. Relatively high cost on advertising, it is indicative of the low quality of the campaign. On advertising was spent every second hryvnia of election funds of candidates, which is a excessive amount. The laws of some European States (e.g. Poland) prohibits the candidates to spend more than a certain percentage of funds, or paid political advertising is generally prohibited,” – said the head of CVU Alexey Purse.

It is noted that the information in the interim report covers the period since election funds prior to March 18, 2019. Final financial reports of candidates will be served after the election.

As reported UNN, NACP found violations in 17 report of the presidential candidates.
