This was during a ceremony of presenting state awards to Ukrainian servicemen on 13 October, the President said Petro Poroshenko, reports “112 Ukraine“.
“More than 300 thousand Ukrainian soldiers have been war and deservedly, as directly involved in the fighting, the participants of defense of Ukraine from Russia received the status of combatants”, – he said.

According to him, more than 16 thousand 700 soldiers honored with state awards.
“Unfortunately, 2,700 of them – posthumously. The title of “Hero of Ukraine” has 45 Ukrainian knights, of which 27 were posthumously”, – said the President.
