President Petro Poroshenko held a telephone conversation with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, during which he informed the NATO Secretary General on the situation in the Donbass. About it reports a press-service of Administration of the President.
The President expressed gratitude to NATO for its consistent political support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and important practical assistance in countering Russian aggression.
The head of state informed the Secretary-General on the situation in the Donbas and continuing violations of the ceasefire by the Russian occupation forces.
Poroshenko reiterated that Ukraine continues the implementation of a policy of Euro-Atlantic integration and actively reforming the security sector and defence in accordance with NATO standards, reported the AP. In this regard, it was noted the recent approval by the Council of national security and defense of the draft law on national security.
During the conversation they also discussed topical issues of further cooperation in the framework of the Commission Ukraine – NATO.
Today in Kiev the chief of armed forces General staff, General of the army Viktor Muzhenko met with the special representative of the United States Kurt Volker.
