Poroshenko asked the Parliament to urgently consider the law on the diplomatic service

President Petro Poroshenko submitted to the Parliament marked “urgent” the draft law on diplomatic service. About it reports a press-service of the head of state.

The President believes that the adoption of the law “is no less important than building a defense strategy and approve the Strategic defense Bulletin and the reform of the army”. “This is our army, but on another front – the front of foreign policy”, – said the press Secretary of the President Svyatoslav Tsegolko.

The main objective of the project stated “the establishment of a new legal and institutional framework for the functioning of diplomatic service as the civil service special nature” due to the fact that the officials are implementing the foreign policy of Ukraine and effectively protect its national interests in the international arena.

The bill defines the legal status of such officials, especially the activities of bodies of the diplomatic service, order received on her, her passing and clock, and also establishes mandatory rotation of diplomats and standardized wage with the social guarantees for workers.

“Adoption of this draft law will contribute to a comprehensive modernisation of the diplomatic service and ensure the unity of approaches in the legal regulation of the peculiarities of the diplomatic service as an integral part of the civil service” – summed Poroshenko.
