Russian calligrapher Pokras Lampas in an interview with RT commented on the situation with the opening of a car wash label Black Star. According to the artist, for the registration of the car used his sketches that he had not given permission.
“I think it’s a very sad situation when Russia finally began to appear the names of the artists who affect something that is recognizable and instead work with them or promote the young guys, there was a story where the copied work. Copied one to one, because it’s very hard to repeat, but copied General view”, — he said on the sidelines of the VII St. Petersburg international cultural forum.
The artist noted that he is disappointed with the fact that his work is now confused with “quite a poor quality fake.” At the same Stripes added that it plans to file for Black Star to court.
“From a legal point of view, it is quite a long litigation, because it is impossible to copy the work of an artist one to one, always will be any changes. You can copy a General view… This examination, which may be very long, sometimes just doesn’t add up with my own schedule,” explained Stripes.
In November, the company musician Timati Black Star introduced its own car wash in Moscow on Kutuzovsky Prospekt.
