Beijing reacted to US attempts to “recapture” China’s “friendship” with Russia – Reuters
Beijing not only assured the Kremlin of “eternal friendship”, but also touched upon the topic of the war in Ukraine.
During his visit to Russia yesterday, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi stressed that Russia and China will “always be friends, not enemies.”
This principle allows for cooperation between the countries at a higher level, Wang Yi said, according to the Reuters resource.
The source writes that Putin should receive the Chinese Foreign Minister. According to Wang, all of China is happy that relations between Moscow and Washington have become a little “warmer.” Two big states should not be in conflict against the background of the events that are currently taking place in the world.
Beijing does not believe that by his actions against Russia, Trump is simply trying to set Moscow up against China.
The Minister also touched upon the topic of the war in Ukraine. According to him, there are already shifts towards signing the agreement, and this is good.
“There is no pain and no gain with the world,” Wang said.
A peace agreement must be accepted by both sides of the conflict, and China is ready to play its role in signing it. Peace itself must be lasting and acceptable to Russia and Ukraine.
Experts recall that not so long ago, China and Brazil came up with their “peace plan”, which has not found support in the world community.
Earlier Dialog.UA published the opinion of analysts from ISW, who voiced the reasons for not being able to sign a cease-fire agreement in Ukraine until April 20.
The US State Department rejected Putin’s idea of introducing a “provisional government” in Ukraine under the auspices of the United Nations.
