In Lviv in the night of March 6, unknown persons stole from the tombstones on the Hill of Fame bronze bas-relief of Soviet intelligence agent Nikolai Kuznetsov.

About this UNIAN reported in a press-service of the Lviv city Council. As the Director of LKP “Museum “Lychakiv cemetery” Michael Nagai, on the Hill of Glory tonight kidnapped a flat bas-relief tombstones Kuznetsova.

“Earlier it was the stolen plate with the inscription of the name and surname. On the scene called the police,” said Nagai.

In his opinion, “it is rather banal kidnapping, not an act of vandalism”.

The hill of Glory memorial in honor of soldiers killed during the First world war (1914-1915) in Galicia, and in honor of the Soviet soldiers who took part in the battles for Lviv with the German troops in 1944. Located in the Eastern part of the city in the beginning of the street center, is the administrative part of the Museum-reserve “Lychakiv cemetery”.

Nikolai Kuznetsov – Soviet saboteur-spy, the NKVD agent, who died 8 March 1944 in the village of Boratyn, Brody district, Lviv region. According to one version, he blew himself up with a grenade, another was killed in battle.
