In honor of the 25th anniversary of the Ukrainian Navy in the port of Odessa held a number of festive events. Including, a solemn lifting of the naval flag and flags colorization on warships, boats and ships. About it reports a press-service of the Ukrainian Navy.
Solemn events were held also in Nikolaev, Ochakov, Mariupol, Berdiansk and other locations of the Ukrainian Navy.
As reported by the Duma on show in Odessa was attended by the chief of the General staff, army General Viktor Muzhenko, commander of naval forces of Ukraine Vice-Admiral Igor Voronchenko, the commander of the Air Forces Colonel-General Sergei Drozdov, as well as representatives of embassies and other guests.
At the beginning of the event, the ceremonial flag-raising, after which the 801 squad of special forces staged a landing in the water is about 150-200 meters from the sea port. Two Antonov An-26 threw 16 paratroopers who parachuted from a height of around 1000 meters. They unfurled flags in flight: Ukrainian, Odessa and the flag of the Ukrainian Navy.
Rescuers IRCC raised parachutists from the water. At the same time, above the waters of the port appeared two helicopters Mi-14 and one of them landed the divers from a height of about 5-7 meters. After the An-26 and Mi-14 made demonstration passes at low altitude.
