Officials in Odessa region has appropriated more than 1 million UAH of social assistance

ODESSA-KIEV. July 8. UNN. In Odessa region law enforcement authorities exposed a criminal group that embezzled over 1 million UAH of social assistance for low-income families. About it the correspondent of UNN reported in the press service of the Prosecutor of Odessa region.

During the investigation of criminal proceedings was exposed and liquidated a criminal group which structure included officials of the Department of district administration.

“To get social assistance to poor families of the suspects offered to the persons who are registered and reside in the territory of the district, to provide your personal information to process financial aid. It should be noted that the legal grounds for receiving social assistance, these citizens had. After obtaining public assistance recipients give half to the organizer of criminal group. Within a few years were unjustly executed social payments 17 persons”, – stated in the message.

Now three members of the criminal group were announced suspicion of misappropriation of property through abuse of official position made in especially large scale (part 5, article 191 of the criminal code of Ukraine). Among them the former head of Department acting head of Department and the main specialist.

Recall, 3 July reported that the official Zaporizhzhya regional pathoanatomical Bureau is suspected of embezzlement of more than 50 thousand UAH.
