Off the coast of Nigeria pirates kidnapped sailors of the German ship

The pirates attacked the container ship sea Demeter, when he was in the Bay of Biafra to the South of the Nigerian city of Port Harcourt. About it reports Agency Deutshce Welle.

The ship belongs to the Hamburg shipping company Peter Döhle Schiffahrts-KG and registered in Liberia.

Eight pirates with fast boats got on the boat and kidnapped six crew members, including the captain of the ship. The incident occurred on October 21.

After the pirates left the ship, Demeter continued movement with the remaining 12 on Board by the crew that the attack was not injured. At the moment the ship is in safe waters.

The kidnapped sailors are not German citizens, their citizenship, for security purposes, not reported.

In just the first nine months of this year, in international waters, with 121 reported incidents of piracy and armed robbery.
