For the development of drugs a team of scientists and researchers pharmaceutical companies received the highest state prize

State prize in science and technology for development of drugs received the team of scientists from the Odessa physics and chemical Institute named after A.V. Bogatsky and pharmaceutical company “Interchem”

During the ceremony in the Large conference hall of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine prize was awarded doctor of biological Sciences, head of Department of the Institute Mykola Golovenko; doctor of chemical Sciences Victor Pavlovsky; doctor of chemical Sciences, leading researcher of the Institute Alla Egorova, doctor of biological Sciences, leading researcher of the Institute Tamara Karaseva, General Director of “interkhim” Anatoly Roeder; his Deputy Dmitry Pozigun; production Director Igor Stelmach.

Active substances, which have become the basis for drugs developed in the Odessa scientific center since the 1980-ies. On the basis of three molecules, a pharmaceutical company “interkhim” has developed the production technology and released the tranquilizer “Gidazepam”, hypnotic “levana” and antiviral drug “Amiksin”.

The Minister of education and science, Liliya Hrynevych, presented the award, noted that it is very important that the Ukrainian business is looking for Ukrainian science and finds opportunities for joint development in their own country.

“It is very important that the award was given to those who are developing innovative drugs. And these drugs are saving people’s lives,” said L. Hrynevych.

In turn, the prize winner Dmitry Pozigun believes that the award is recognition of the research team and staff of “Interkhim”.

“This award is for those who develop new drugs and those who bring it to the people, to the people. For me personally, it’s a significant event because it happens once in a lifetime and it really puts us on the same level with those scientists who have contributed to the development of science and technology of our country”, – said Dmitry Pozigun.
