In Odessa because of the measles outbreak to the priests of the UOC of the Moscow Patriarchate banned antiprivivochnaya agitation, as it is a “purely medical aspect”.

The corresponding decree of the Metropolitan of Odessa and Izmail Agafangel was signed January 11. In addition, in all churches of the Odessa diocese must be made daily prayer “on the sick and the cessation of the plagues”.
According to Bishop, the issue of vaccination is purely medical aspect, without spiritual foundations.
“The decision to graft or rejection have to take only the parents of the child; a priest has no right to influence decision-making by parents, jeopardizing the health and lives of children,” — noted in the order of Agafangel.
