KIEV. 9 Nov. UNN. Residents of two districts of Odessa region had to destroy several hundred domestic pigs to stop the spread of African swine fever (ASF), the correspondent of UNN.
For the locals – it is a disaster, because going to slaughter all pigs.
At the same time, it turned out that local authorities have no funds to compensate for the compensation for the killed livestock. Therefore, the amount of which is about 750 thousand hryvnias, local councils asking region.
It is planned that in the near future from the reserve Fund of the regional and district budgets to the population will be reimbursed for losses based 35 UAH per kilogram of live weight.
“Only in the Odessa region recorded eight fires and all measures are taken to avoid the spread of infectious diseases. Now being re-disinfection in outbreaks of infection. Across the region strengthen measures to control illegal trade and transportation of the cattle, that ASF did not spread to other settlements”, – said Alexander Tereshchuk, Deputy Chairman of the Odessa regional state administration.
We will remind, for the last two years in Ukraine destroyed about 80 thousand pigs because of an outbreak of ASF. According to people’s Deputy Sergei Trigubenko, to minimize the loss of farmers and the state, restoring the practice of insurance of farms against ASF.
