NACP will monitor political advertising

KIEV. 19 Dec. UNN. The national Agency for prevention of corruption in cooperation with the national Council on television and radio broadcasting will monitor the use of parties and candidates advertising budgets on television. This was reported by press service of the Agency, reports UNN.

“Today the Chairman of the NACP Olexander Mangul and Chairman of the National Council of Ukraine on television and radio broadcasting Yuri Artemenko signed a Memorandum of cooperation in order to ensure compliance with the election and anti-corruption legislation in the field of broadcasting”, — stated in the message.

It is assumed that both entities will complement each other in monitoring the electoral funds of the parties. The parties report on their expenditure in the NACP, the national Council, in turn, has the authority to monitor the political campaign.

Thus, the NACP will carry out cross-checks of information that political parties submit to the Agency, relative to the direction of their funds on television advertising.

“I emphasize, we do not control the media, but control the costs that parties spend on media advertising,” — said the Chairman of the NACP Olexander Mangul.

NACP and Novotroitskoye ore mining will exchange information about the use of airtime by customers of political and social advertising, lawful and targeted use of political parties, funds allocated from the state budget for the financing of their statutory activities, completeness and accuracy of information included in the reports provided by parties about the assets, income, expenses and obligations of financial nature, reports on the receipt and use of election funds, the election funds of candidates for President.

Earlier, the CEC warned about the illegality of early campaigning.

In 2019 Ukraine will hold elections for President and Parliament. So, the presidential elections scheduled for 31 March 2019, and the elections to the Verkhovna Rada of IX convocation on October 27.
