MPs want to ban “cut” help the farmers
KIEV. 6 Feb. UNN. On the website of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine registered a draft Law which proposes to extend the period of granting of budget support to agricultural producers by 2025, and also to regulate it at the level not less than 1% of agricultural GDP, reports UNN with reference to the document registered on 31 January 2020 (no. 2825).
The initiators of the bill has reminded that in 2019, the authorities have limited budget support to agriculture, establishing it in the amount that does not exceed 1% of output in agriculture.
“In contrast to the current valid regulations regarding directions for these purposes of not less than 1% of output in agriculture,” write the legislators.

In the state budget for 2020 identified the volume of budget support for agriculture at the level of 4 billion, accounting for only 43% of limit or 0.5% of agricultural GDP. According to the authors of the document, it does not correspond to real needs in budget support one of the key sectors of Ukraine’s economy.
Recall that in Canada, the budget of subsidies to the farmers is 9% of agricultural GDP, which is about $ 6 billion. About the same amount on agriculture spends Germany. The total budget for direct payments to farmers in 2018 in Poland amounted to 14.6 billion PLN, i.e. more than 3.6 billion dollars.
