Most Russian universities have decided not to raise tuition fees in new academic year, said the head of the Ministry of science and higher education of Russia Valery Falkov.

In interview to the program “Right to justice” on the First channel, he said that about a month ago on the site of the Russian Union of rectors in the course of the discussion, it was decided.

Earlier the President of Russia Vladimir Putin urged University authorities to “not bully” the prices of education due to the situation with the pandemic coronavirus infection.

The Ministry of culture noted that the universities will still be able to set their own tuition fees for students, but prices in the new academic year should not be installed higher in 2019.
