Measles and flu Odessa students want to extend winter vacation
KIEV. January 10. UNN. The Department of education and science of the Odessa city Council recommend to the Directors of educational institutions to continue the winter holidays until 18 January. It is reported by UNN with reference to the statement of the Director of the Department of education and science Elena buynevich.
“To prevent the spread of the measles virus as well as influenza and SARS, the health Department of the Odessa city Council recommends to limit contact with school-age children. Taking into account these recommendations, and given the difficult weather conditions, the Department of education and science of the Odessa city Council recommends that the heads of educational institutions of the city to issue orders on the extension of winter holidays till January 18, inclusive,” the statement reads.

Accordingly, students will be able to go to classes in Odessa schools on Monday, January 14, a week later – on 21 January.
However, the final decision on the extension of the break will take the heads of educational institutions.
We will remind, more than 2 thousand people since the beginning of the year in Ukraine was ill with measles.
