Symbolic bench, and a sculpture – a gift to Odessa city Day by the city of Lodz, which has the same penguin.
As noted by Orel, Odessa and Lodz – twin cities since 1993.
“I think this bench with the penguin will become a favorite place for kids and their parents walking in the Park. We, in turn, share in the Lodz tourist symbol of Odessa “Anchor-heart”, said Orlowski.
As noted by the representative Office for business development and international relations Lodz Lydia Fazekas, the poles have a tradition: if you RUB your hand the beak of a penguin, all will have good luck.
“We came to Odessa to celebrate the 225 anniversary of the founding of Odessa. But as you know, a birthday without gifts do not come. And our gift is special, it represents the culture of Poland. This cartoon penguin grew more than one generation of young poles”, – said Fazekas.
It is noted that the Peak Pok fosters in children an interest in the world and the environment. Symbolizes the values that lie at the basis of friendship Lodz and Odessa.
