KIEV. July 31. UNN. Ukrainian Institute of national memory demands to dismantle in seven localities of Odessa region the monuments of Vladimir Lenin. This is stated in the report of the Institute, reports UNN.

According to the Institute, they became aware of the fact that on the territory of 7 settlements of the Bolgrad district of the Odessa region remain monuments that are symbols of the Communist totalitarian regime.

Such monuments, according to the report, is still not dismantled in the villages of Vinogradovka, Grape, Golitsa, Gorodnya, Rail, Kalchevaya, New Trojans. And also the Karl Marx monument in the village of Gorodnya and the hammer and sickle in the village of Golitsa.

“So the Institute turned to the rural heads, demanding the immediate execution of the Law “About the condemnation of the Communist and national socialist (Nazi) totalitarian regimes and the prohibition of propaganda of their symbols” and dismantling of such constructions. Also sent letters to the police, Prosecutor and SBU to facilitate the prosecution of officials of local self-government bodies of these settlements, which violate the legislation of Ukraine”, – said in the Institute.

Recall that to complete the de-toponymic left to rename two areas, one district and 9 villages.
